Supa Comix

So i eventually got around to fixing the forum. It was running a test version of MyTwitterBB that wasn’t working properly. I have just removed the plugin since i do not have time to fix the bug properly. Speaking of not having time:

I have now finished the first version of Supa Blogg, it’s not available to anyone to use right now as I’m testing it after coding and everyone who codes knows how many first time bugs they find when they test a program for the first time. I do not unit test with large programs, i would rather code in the flow of it and then bug test in one go. It means that everything is kept going and im not breaking flow to see whether it’s showing the right time or not. I am continuing to test Supa Blogg and i hope to have it running my personal blog very soon. It won’t be out for Public use until after i have released the new Supa Comix website later this year (hopefully).

MyTwitterBB Version 2.5 has not had anything done to it just yet. I have started University and i have to do that, SupaBlogg and the Survivors Diary so getting things done is a slow process right now. I have so many things that i want to do but cannot do alot of them because i have to prioritise what I’m working on. I was just making a post to make sure that you did not think that we were dead or anything.

I do not know what’s happening with Is it Because I’m Green or Virtually Reality, Adele has also started uni and has more work than me so she’s also very busy. But from what i’ve seen the scripts for Season 1 of IIBIG are coming along nicely.

So after the long period of no posting information, or news or anything on this page i come bearing loads of new information.

Firstly, the Supa Comix website is still coming along nicely, i am working on the blogging platform first. This will be installed first on the new website and it will be the home of my blog where i can test it quite extensivley and continously whenever i upgrade it. I will release more information about it once its done, but before its ready for release. I do not expect Supa Kode to be ready for release until after the new website has come out due to the fact that the major testing of that code will be done with the new website.

MyTwitterBB is going into its next revision, i have been working on some better ways to read XML files and fetching their data and i have found a way to do it i just need to do some more coding around it and add in some more features before i release it.

MyWikiBB has had some more ideas done for it but i have not done anything to that.

The Survivors Diary Community has just had a portal page installed meaning that everything that happens in the community can now be found within one singular place. Including some new content. We have also chosen to move the podcasts release date to biweekly.

Other projects such as Gal X, Zombie Stress 2 etc are remaining uncompleted right now. There is a lot to complete and what we want to do has to be prioritised so the projects such as Gal X and Zombie Stress 2 have to be put on hold.

Hey everyone, we’re back again posting news left right and center. So we have a lot to let you know of:

Firstly we are moving steadily with the new website. Although it will not be completed by the 1st of July unfourtunatley. Once again i have restructured how it will work and so that has been a major set back with the website development. Other major things include that i have to do another website for my Open University course, as well as that we are also going camping for about 3 weeks from the 2nd of July to the 26th meaning that we are going to be away for a while.

Secondly, a lot of some minor projects are starting to take shape so they should start to see content after our return or even, if you’re lucky, before we go away. So watch this space for new content.

Thirdly, our minor project MyWikiBB is undergoing some slow development, but when we come back and when i have the time to update it i will have Alpha 3 ready. It’s nothing major in the way of something that you can interact with but it is some updates for how such a project is going.

Wow we are starting to update the Supa Comix website a bit more often than ever before! Yey!

Supa Kode is now moving it’s wiki to a new website address, the old one at Wetpaint was not fulfilling what we needed from it unlike wikidot. Don’t get us wrong Wikipaint was great but we needed something else from it that it did not support and wikidot was the answer. So we have started to move over what page we have on the old wiki to the new one. We have added a couple more and then an article on PHP Naming Conventions. We hope to get this website updated often, Supa Kode is coming towards being completed in the way of alpha and construction level coding. There are many bugs to work out and we are still working on that. But these bugs and additions will be added whilst we code the Supa Comix website.

thats right… i do release some stuff on time! in fact i have been working hard to update the look of the Is It Because I’m Green website over the past few days.

So now the new look is up you can go and check it out by going to the project page where the old design has been replaced. There isnt any content on there at the moment as we are still working on it… but it still looks pretty… oh and the Project announcment will be coming soon. – Adele

The website as you can see runs on WordPress, this is just becuase with the time frame that we had i didn’t have enough to construct everything for the blog just yet. So for now it’s going to be a wordpress blog, but the good news is that work has actually properly started on the Supa Comix website. I had to go back and do a bit of it again but this time it’s working properly and im working in a better order than before as i now do things in the order that i would need them testing.

Hopefully i will be able to get a lot of it done and a lot of it will come around to be fixed and working soon. You may even be seeing some of it go live in a while. – Nick

Well i know its been a while since we’ve posted anything here but we have been busy. It’s nearing the end of the university year and so we’re trying to get a lot of that work done and dusted. Luckily i have very little left to do for uni so i can start working on Supa Comix stuff full time soon.

The Supa Comix website is coming along, i’ve been coding a lot of pages and been getting around to testing them at a later date, at the moment i have been getting along with the Supa Kode stuff but its starting to come along quickly.

Me and soul have also been working on a small comic which mixes with the Survivors Diary podcast that we do. Check out the links on the side for the website for that.

Now i have been working on some plugin for MyBB forums called MyTwitterBB. It’s gone into version 2.0 and seems to be working pretty well. It has been confirmed on the MyBB plugin part of the website but you can check it out at supacomix.co.uk/mytwitterbb. It merges users forum accounts user titles with their twitter accounts and also allows a global display of a twitter feed. Its not in use on the Supa Comix forum becuase Supa Comix does not have a twitter feed and the forums are not often used. But it is in use of the Survivors Diary Forums so check it out there.

Well i know that we have not made a post here for a while, especially me but we have been busy. I am nearing the end of my third year of university and so i have many things to get done for it. Though i’m mainly concentrating on a 6k word dissertation right now so writing a lot of co-herent english (if at all) eventually hurts my head.

Anyway i have good news, most of the work that i now get up to is actually based upon some website coding for Supa Comix which i try and get done as well as keep to a schedule which has now been set. At current projections that if i worked for 3 days a week completing one page per day then the website would be ready by July at least for beta testing. However this does not take into account of no more university, days off, injury or sickness as well as me doing more than one page a day. So hopefully i should get it done around that time, at the moment i’m working towards the correct time span being roughly on target. I have something thats due for this wednesday that i’ve set myself so hopefully i will get that done.

Well then boys and gals. We have been working hard towards one major thing here at Supa Comix, and that is a new version of the website. You have been aware of a lot of things about the new website for a long time and although i have only just got around to writing a new news post now it is all for good reasons. Major reasons are for work and uni but other things include the continuing development of two focused areas of Supa Comix.

I am going to talk about the second one first… so the Survivors Diary Podcast (SDP) is something that me and Adele enjoy working on and is gathering a lot of speed towars having a great community. Every week we talk about a game that we enjoy playing and it is quickly developing into one of the most successful Supa Comix projects that we’ve invested time and money into. It has already greatly exceeded the Fortress website. A lot of our time goes into this project that we enjoy developing and as well as that we also gather a lot of information and knowledge about advertising projects and getting recordings done etc. Something that will benefit Supa Comix in the long run.

The first point of our focus, the new Supa Comix website is something that although has not as much time invested in it is something that takes a while to construct when time is invested. The administration section is still being worked upon but this has advantages rather than disadvantages. Firstly it helps me add more towards the Supa Kode manual which i have been filling out ready for its release. But other advantages is that we can discuss what we really want from the website and i can get them implemented ahead of the website release. We have really been thinking about Supa Comix and where we want to go with it and a lot of things are going to change and even appear nearer the time of the website release. I do not have an actual finish data for it, but once the administration section is complete i hope that the time it takes to construct it all will be short. When i am confident with it i will release it as a beta and we can test it all together. !Hurray!

Also i wanted to add a couple of things about Zombie Stress 2 and Gal X. These projects are our next target of concentration when we finish the website. Though Gal X is facing a possible further extension of its standby setting as we want to do something along similar lines but simpler. More news about that when we actually get around to it. I know that a lot of people are awaiting Zombie Stress 2 but we really are busy and the new website is a higher priority, but despite that me and Adele have really been talking about it and the game may go back to some form of pre-production and massive changes when we come to start on it again. There are loads of area’s we want to expand it into and things we want to do with it but you’re going to have to be patient and hope that the SC website is doon soon then the ZS2 will be done sooner.

Well we have had a busy week, we now have the new version of the Mybb Forum Plugin: Latest News has now gone into Version 1.2. The new version now backs up every template that it adjusts, so that when you uninstall it the plugin returns everything back to normal. Download here.

The Supa Comix website is coming along fine now, i am chugging quite quickly through the admin section of the website meaning that once thats done things should start to fit together a whole lot easier. Anywho thats all for now folks.

In other news, i am now working on the actual Supa Comix website. Though the administration area is still under construction for the website but we’ve had some great ideas for it and its only a matter of time before it is finished.

Although at the moment i am logged down with some Open Uni work i am currently working towards the Mybb Latest News Plugin Version 1.2. It’s not far away now but a few people have left reviews which had some good ideas for improvements for it and i am currently in the process of sticking those in. So expect to see them out soon.

Me and Adele should hope to start work on the next Episode of Is It Because I’m Green soon in the hope to get one last episode out before Christmas so stay tuned for news about that.
